Welcome to the first edition of New Rural Virginia. We hope you will join us in search of good ideas for the future of our rural communities. This all started with a simple conversation among friends after last November’s election. It was a shame, we thought, that the billions of dollars spent in that election cycle had shed so little light on the solutions to the challenges facing rural America, whose wellbeing is central to the success of the rest of the country in the decades to come. By launching our website and this newsletter, we hope to collect and make available your good ideas - and ours - about how all of America’s rural communities will succeed in the 21st century, starting right here where we live, in Rappahannock County.
